Surplus
CMPs were transferred to the Post Master General's department which looked
after all post office and telephone services in Australia. Many of these
were modified to accommodate extra crew. The windscreen was moved to an
upright position and wind-up windows fitted to new doors.

Daylesford,
1974.
This
example was found in Western Victoria in 2003 by Stuart McDonald who took
these pictures. These pictures well illustrate the widened coachbuilt cab
and vertical windscreen. This vehicle served as a fire tender after PMG
service.
Although
it might make a good family wagon it's not the most attractive CMP conversion.
